We have another new single from Joakim Molitor, who has been on form recently. This time, he has collaborated with well-renowned British superstar Cher Lloyd. Their track is titled “4U”, which follows up his previous single “Beautiful Monsters”, and her 2016 single “Activated”. Today saw Joakim Molitor drop the official lyric video, on his YouTube Channel. This single marks both of the artists’ first release of 2018.
Joakim Molitor is a Swedish DJ who went viral in 2017 with “Always Gonna Say Sorry” which featured Maia Wright. He followed that up with another collaboration with the female artist, titled “Weightless”. The former has over 10 million streams on Spotify, whereas the latter has reached 1,000,000. He is definitely a DJ we’re all keeping an eye on as he continues to drop unstoppable bangers. This time around he’s collaborated with Cher Lloyd and we are living for this track.
She’s the British superstar who came fourth on the seventh series of The X Factor – just behind One Direction. She went on to have a debut number one track with “Swagger Jagger”, before climbing charts all over the world with follow-up singles “With Ur Love” and “Want U Back”, managing to chart at number 12 on the US Billboard Chart with the latter track. She has released a total of two studio albums, with the most-recent one getting mixed chart placements. In 2017 she announced she had signed with ie:music – so we’ve been expecting a new album for some time now. Just last month, she gave birth to her first child with husband Craig Monk; they have named their daughter, Delilah-Rae.
This brand new song, “4U”, has been written by Elvira Anderfjärd and Joakim Molitor. As for the lyric video, it has been created by Max Joseph at Plato & Pablo. We’re in awe of this song, and the visual below is so serene, it’s something you need to see.

The creative visual sees petals fall from above, each one containing the lyrics that Cher Lloyd is singing. During the chorus we get to see the flower in all its glory, revealing itself to be a luscious deep-pink rose. This lyric video is beyond beautiful and fully relates to the song’s meaning in its own way.
As for the song itself, we have to admit that we have missed Cher Lloyd’s voice these past two years, “Activated” was a favourite of ours, but it left us craving for more; however, it was clearly worth the wait because Cher Lloyd fully nails the vocal delivery of “4U”.
The backing track is everything we wanted and more, once again Joakim Molitor has proven his producing abilities, giving Cher Lloyd the chance to shine on the vocals, before obliterating us all with his passionate drop that fades magically when the next verse kicks in. This just proves how technically brilliant he is.
The song itself paints a story of a character who has found someone they would open up to if they could, but they’re not used to opening up as they have built these walls up and it’s going to be difficult to let someone in, but they’ve found someone special that they would do that for. The lyric video works perfectly with this message and really showcases it in a stunning way. Cher Lloyd has really connected with the song and delivers the much-needed emotion on the track.
